So, I was wondering if it is possible to use a wiimote as a mouse on the computer?
I have recently moved my computer into my living room to act as my HTPC and I don't like having to use my corded mouse. I would like to use the wii mote if it is at all possible.
Does anyone have experience in this and is it easy?

Okay 1. This is not for the Wii or nintendo in any way. You want to use the Wiimote but on your PC. Not a question to be posted in the Nintendo area.

2. Yes it can be done. Just search YouTube. There are hundreds of videos of this in action. But it is only for Linux. I have not seen it in action for Windows.

So there you have it. Not to mention how fast the Wiimote eats up battery power. Why not just get a rechargeable cordless mouse? Would be 10x more efficient.

1. My bad for posting in the wrong section.
2. I guess i wanted a cheap airmouse, but I may just buy the cordless stuff.

thanks and sorry for the post error

There are air mice out there. But the Wiimote is not going to be your answer. In the long run you will spend more on battery replacements than you would if you just bought a air mouse or a cordless mouse now.
